Bwambale Benard is a seasoned Public Health Nutritionist and Food Systems Specialist with over 7 years of experience in Uganda’s health and nutrition sector.
He specializes in food systems, nutrition governance, policy advocacy, capacity building, and program development.
He is currently the Country Coordinator for the Food Safety Coalition of Uganda and the Head of Programs at the Global Consumer Center (CONSENT).
He is currently pursuing a Ph.d in public health. He holds a Master of Public Health (Health Promotion) from Uganda Martyrs University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition & Dietetics from Kyambogo University. He is also pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning & Management..
He has managed food safety, nutrition, and refugee health programs, including leading nutrition governance work in the Rwenzori region and refugee settlements.
He established District Nutrition Coordination Committees, developed city food safety ordinances, and led multi-sectoral research and policy engagement initiatives.
He has worked with Food for the Hungry, Action Africa Help, Kabarole Research Centre, and currently works with FoSCU and CONSENT.
He is a member of the Allied Nutrition Professionals of Uganda and various national and district-level Nutrition and Food Safety Committees.
He is skilled in SPSS, Kobo Toolbox, DHIS2, MS Office, and excels in leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
